how i celebrated sunday.

these are my first 2nd generation socks.  i bought a quite large 100% wool sweater at salvation army for $3 a couple weeks ago, spent forever disassembling it, and then used the recycled yarn (1 of the sleeves and 1/4 of the front piece) to knit these killer socks for my cousin for the holidays.  (the pattern is the Ragg Hiker from 2 socks on 1 circ, but i did them on dpns, because in my opinion, circs suck. there are good patterns in that book though, i gotta say.) i only finished them about 3 hours before the extended fam left to go back home to the south. it was a close call.  but needless to say, i have enough blue wool to knit about 4 more pairs of socks! 
i put a bow on "little girl's" head. she wasnt happy. at all. (note: demon eyes) heh.

and finally, i watched the chickens and the guineas run around the yard and search for bugs and seeds in the grass, while i smoked the only cigarette i've had since yesterday. (props: to me) 

the chicken closest to me in the pic is Princess, and i swear to god, she really does think she is the princess of the coop, its weird.
